Match Report
Wilson’s U12Bs 1-0 Trinity | Wednesday 9 October 2024
Towards the end of last half term, Wilson’s U12B team took on Trinity School in a match full of anticipation. The U12B team had not beaten Trinity since 2017, but with the U12B's current unbroken run of victories it looked possible. However, Trinity were also eager to keep their own unbeaten streak against Wilson's! Hopes for a great match were high, and the game certainly didn’t disappoint.
Right from the kick-off, both teams showed their intent with physical battles taking place all over the pitch. Neither side was willing to back down, and chances came at both ends in what turned out to be an end-to-end contest. Both Wilson’s and Trinity players fought hard for every ball, and the game remained fiercely competitive.
Wilson’s defence was at its best, and Qasim played a crucial role, pulling off several key saves that kept Trinity from scoring. Meanwhile, Vayun was rock-solid at the back, making crucial tackles and ensuring the defence stayed strong under pressure.
It was during injury time that a moment of magic came. Arjun, with one of the last kicks of the game, let fly with a long-distance screamer that sailed past the Trinity goalkeeper and into the back of the net. The goal was the perfect way to break the deadlock and give Wilson’s the victory they had long waited for.
Shortly afterwards, the final whistle blew, marking a historic win for Wilson’s U12B team. The hard-fought win extended their unbeaten streak to seven games, and Arjun’s stunning strike will be remembered as the match-winner.
